Mr. Ward’s career background includes time working for a general contractor during law school. At his La Jolla law firm, he provides legal support in construction and business dispute cases, handling matters such as mechanic's liens (legal claims on properties for unpaid construction), stop notices for construction work, and Miller Act claims related to unpaid work on federal construction projects.

Along with his practice in construction law, William Ward has shared his expertise in diverse settings. He spoke at a Stanford University seminar on legal topics relating to construction and was a guest lecturer at the University of California, San Diego, discussing civil litigation.

In addition to California state courts, Mr. Ward is admitted to practice in the federal court system, including the Ninth US Circuit Court of Appeals and the US Supreme Court. He has also been admitted to the federal district court in Hawaii.
